  28. Short description : Replacement for mailer on small BBS's where mail
  29.                     functions are not in order and SysOp shares the
  30.                     machine between BBS and normal functions;
  31.  
  32. Description       : BBE can be used as a front-end for a BBS. BBS's
  33.                     who are not FidoNet <tm> compatible or Sysop's who
  34.                     don't need a mailer and share the PC between BBS
  35.                     and their own work can use BBE. BBE will stay in
  36.                     memory and the Sysop can shell to dos (BBE takes
  37.                     only a small amount of memory). When the modem is
  38.                     forced to take phone-calls, the only thing the
  39.                     Sysop has to do is to exit from the shell and the
  40.                     front-end will handle the call.

  42.                     Non fidonet <tm> compatible BBS programs can use
  43.                     BBE as their front-end. There is extensive support
  44.                     for a user questionaire BEFORE the BBS comes active.
  45.                     BBE can terminate with an errorlevel, based on the
  46.                     results of the questionaire plus the callers baud-
  47.                     rate.
  48.  
  49.                     BBE includes support to handle direct Bimodem <tm>
  50.                     calls in a direct manner. When the other side starts
  51.                     a Bimodem session within 30 seconds, BBE will also
  52.                     start a Bimodem session and both ends can transport
  53.                     files to each other. With the security support on
  54.                     Bimodem, this makes a nice unattended support for
  55.                     commercial firms who want so transfer their files
  56.                     in a cheap (only BBE and Bimodem) way;
  57.  
  58. Updates           : Major updates in 5.02 are, configurable port address
  59.                     and IRQ. In 5.03 some extra tests added. In 5.05 I
  60.                     have tried to fix some mismatches in modem-PC-BBE
  61.                     combinations.
